The degrees will also be subsidised by the government.<br \/>\nThe new degrees form part of the party\u2019s wider plans to enhance the career prospects of the \u201cForgotten 50 per cent\u201d that don\u2019t go to university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More than one way to succeed through education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><br \/>\nCommenting on the plans the Labor leader emphasized the need to broaden the scope of educational programs. He said:<br \/>\n\u201cFor too long governments have believed there is only one way to success through education, which is to follow the conventional academic route: to do GCSEs, A-levels, a traditional academic subject at university and then on to career. But that kind of aspiration cannot be limited only to those young people who choose a conventional academic route.
