{"id":2795,"date":"2015-05-26T10:41:22","date_gmt":"2015-05-26T10:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.discovery-graduates.com\/?p=2795"},"modified":"2015-05-26T10:41:22","modified_gmt":"2015-05-26T10:41:22","slug":"hiring-boost-in-financial-sector-benefits-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/discovery-adr.com\/us\/hiring-boost-in-financial-sector-benefits-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"Hiring boost in financial sector benefits graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.discovery-graduates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Salary-increases-620.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2796 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.discovery-graduates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Salary-increases-620.jpg\" alt=\"Salary-increases-620\" width=\"620\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finance graduates can celebrate a hiring boost within London\u2019s financial sector, which has rebounded since the General Election, according to Venn Group.<\/p>\n<p>According to the recruitment company, the number of financial firms hiring declined in the run-up to the General Election, with advertised vacancies falling by 10% in April.<\/p>\n<p>However, the sector has now seen a surge of vacancies being advertised, including a spike in the demand for structured finance specialists and credit analysts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employment in the financial sector soars <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Project Managers and finance graduates are also needed in order to implement the Financial Conduct Authority\u2019s (FCA) new client asset rules within asset management firms and investment banks.<\/p>\n<p>These rulings will require more staff in the sector as workloads are set to increase, providing a number of opportunities for those hunting for new roles.<\/p>\n<p>Graduates will be pleased to know that this isn\u2019t the first rise in financial jobs available in London, as the number of vacancies rose by 17% in February this year when compared to 12 months previously. Investment banks were the largest contributors to this increase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employment boost north of the border<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, it isn\u2019t just the capital that has benefitted from this surge in recruitment, but also north of the border \u2013 since the Scottish referendums on independence \u2013 according to BrightPool.<\/p>\n<p>Vacancies within the financial sector in the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow rose to 3,070 at the beginning of May this year, an increase of 21% since September 2014.<\/p>\n<p>BrightPool\u2019s Angela Hickmore said that both Edinburgh and Glasgow \u201care two of the UK\u2019s great financial services centers with significant reserves of sector expertise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Are you a recent graduate from this sector?
